![]() ![]() When you install your old Quickbooks program from an original Distro, it gives you R5, but my company file is now R7, so a new install from the original Distro will not open my company file. QB 2010 is not compatible with Windows 10, so I plan to move to a more reasonable accounting package that does not orphan releases after 3 years, but I want to install Quickbooks 2010 on my Windows 7 machines so I can access legacy data which will be current up to last week when I decided to abandon Quickbooks when I move to Windows 10. ![]() Need to replace my main desktop computer MOBO and CPU, which means subsequently moving to Windows 10. You search the web, and you cannot find any solutions (at least I didn't, YMMV), and you conclude that you are now dead in the water.ĮG, I have been using Premier 2010 Canadian Version. What it does not tell you, is that Intuit has deleted those updates from their server, and you will never get them again. QB then offers to do the updates, but every time it tries, it fails. You do so, but when you go to open your company file, Quickbooks tells you that it cannot open the file because it was being used in a later release that was caused by an update (EG: your company file is now R7, but you installed R5). The problem: you have an old legacy version of Quickbooks (EG: pre 2016) and you want to install it on a different computer.
